The Need for Accommodation Support
The emotional and financial toll a cancer diagnosis has on families is devastating. Those who do not live close to a treating hospital face the added challenge of finding somewhere to live while their loved one receives and recovers from treatment.
The need for treatment is often urgent, leaving families with limited time to arrange temporary housing. The unknown surrounding treatment and recovery also means families don't know how long they will be away from home. These added challenges can be extremely stressful for families already going through emotional turmoil.
Fight Cancer Foundation's patient accommodation centres provide a stable, comfortable and welcoming home away from home, relieving patients and their families of some of the financial and emotional burden caused by cancer.
