Faces of Hope: Jade Hunter
This month’s Face of Hope is TEAM Champion for Sydney active events Jade Hunter.
As a writer, blogger, model and fitness ambassador Jade combines her passion for active living with her commitment to the fight against cancer by leading TEAM Fight Cancer at active events in Sydney and sharing her tips and tricks with other team members.
Since 2015 when I became TEAM Champion for Sydney active events in the lead up to the City2Surf.
I run as TEAM Champion in active events across Sydney, clocking up the k’s for a good cause and sharing my training, lifestyle and diet tips to inspire other team members. I use social media and various writing platforms to promote upcoming events and share advice on all aspects of health, from exercise to sleep habits in preparation for a fun run, from leading experts.
I lost my grandfather to cancer in 2014 and was inspired by the purpose and invaluable work of Fight Cancer Foundation. So when Fight Cancer Foundation contacted me to help share their message it became a way to honour the memory of my Grandfather and inspire others to support the cause.
Recently I had the opportunity to tour The Children’s Hospital at Westmead Hospital and experience first-hand how the Back on Track education support program works and how Fight Cancer Foundation is helping families in the fight against cancer. It really opened my eyes to how significant the work of Fight Cancer Foundation is and further strengthened my resolve to promote and support their programs and services. Each time I run as TEAM Champion I am running for the love of my Grandfather and for all those who are in their own fight against cancer. It truly is close to my heart and being involved with Fight Cancer Foundation gives my passion for active living a greater purpose.
