Face of Hope: Alisha Lorentz
Alisha has been volunteering with Fight Cancer Foundation as a graphic designer since early 2017, helping us with the creation of online marketing materials.
Following her mother's diagnosis of breast cancer Alisha decided to use her spare time to make a difference and join the fight against cancer .
Alisha's contributions are made all the more noteworthy due to the fact that she volunteers remotely.
How long have you been involved with Fight Cancer Foundation?
I have been working with the Fight Cancer Foundation since March of 2017.
What do you do for Fight Cancer Foundation? (What does this involve/look like?)
I am a volunteer graphic designer. I create banners and images that are shown on the website and attached to emails to keep people up to date.
How did you become involved?
I started to research organisations in Australia that were involved in causes I cared deeply about and that were seeking design help. I soon found the Fight Cancer Foundation.
Why do you choose to volunteer your time with Fight Cancer Foundation?
Two things happened in my life: I moved to Australia from the United States, and my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. I wanted to use my spare time to help causes that were near and dear to my heart, and at that time fighting cancer was always on the forefront of my mind. Having an organisation to contribute to helped me feel like I was a part of something that mattered and made me feel more at home in my new country.
