Chairman's Award 2017 - Hoxton Park Public School
This year’s Chairman’s Award recognises the match-winning fundraising efforts of Hoxton Park Public School in New South Wales.
Hoxton has an enrolment of approximately 650 students between Kindergarten and Grade 6. One of their students, a nine-year-old boy named Noah, was diagnosed with Fibrolamellar Hepatocellular Carcinoma in August.
With the support of their community, Hoxton Park raised a whopping $5,936 in 2017! These funds will help children stay engaged with their education while they receive treatment for cancer.
“Our Footy Colours Day was inspired by one of our Year 4 students, Noah. He has recently been diagnosed with a very rare cancer. Noah is a mad Manly supporter so he wanted the school to participate in this day and raise money for childhood cancers. Noah's family and friends and the whole school community came together to hold a Footy Colours Day. We had huge support from the Western Sydney Wanderers, former Matilda Catherine Cannuli, the Wests Tigers, Penrith Panthers, NRL & Greg Eastwood from the Canterbury Bulldogs,” said Donna Beath, Deputy Principal.
We would like to congratulate Hoxton Park for their tremendous efforts and look forward to having them on our Footy Colours Day team again in 2018.
