Geelong AFLW players back Footy Colours Day
We’re excited to announce the addition of five new Geelong AFLW players to the Footy Colours Day team in 2019!
Our newest ambassadors, Renee Garing, Georgia Clarke, Kate Darby, Sophie Van De Heuvel and Hayley Trevean (pictured) have committed their support to help kids living with cancer this September.
As a high school teacher, Renee recognises the importance of keeping kids with cancer educated while they receive treatment.
Speaking to The Geelong Advertiser Renee said, “Fight Cancer Foundation’s education support programs help kids living with cancer continue their education during and after treatment to ensure they can re-engage with their school when they return.
“Being away from your school and your friends for a number of months at a young age takes a toll on all students, so to have a foundation helping children with cancer return to school is something quite significant.
“All funds raised from Footy Colours Day go towards helping kids stay engaged with education, enabling them to stay at the same level as their classmates and friends, whilst also helping them transition back to school life once their treatment is complete.”
Anyone can get involved in Footy Colours Day. Register your school, organisation, group or club and wear your favourite team’s colours to raise funds for kids with cancer this September. Click here to register now.
