Premiership Team 2016 - Sarah Redfern High School
The Premiership Team Award celebrates squads whose passion and commitment put them in a league of their own.
Sarah Redfern High School, in Sydney’s south-west, saw the school transformed into a sea of colour that included NRL, AFL, A-League and even Quidditch! The 500 student school raised more than $2,300 and used Footy Colours Day as a way to learn about the importance of good health, better lifestyle choices and the significant impact continued learning has on health.
The students pledged to raise as much money as they could to support kids with cancer – which meant more than just wearing a sports jersey. They created videos to promote Footy Colours Day and healthy life choices and ran a Touch Football Tournament open to all year levels (congratulations to the winners – Stage 6 Opals!).
Sarah Redfern High School students pulled one out of the bag, kept their eye on the prize and went above and beyond to become a Premiership Team for Footy Colours Day. Thank you Sarah Redfern High School – a very worthy Hall of Fame inductee!
